Originally from the Philippines, born in Los Angeles, raised in Hong Kong, and is currently based in South London studying illustration at Camberwell College of Art. I began drawing from a very young age, and knew that creating art was something I wanted to do for a living. As a kid, finding a path proved difficult. I was interested in too many things within the art world, and wanted to explore everything. I went from music, to performing arts, to fashion, to film, then back to fashion, and now illustration.
The type of work I do is a bit of everything. I experiment with different materials, and occasionally diverting myself from 2D to 3D, just to keep things interesting. The one prominent component that I include in my work is trying to create an experience, bringing in the audience into a different side of the world. Recently, I’ve been enjoying ceramics, printmaking, building, and of course tattooing. I started tattooing in 2011 during my gap year, and did an apprenticeship in the Philippines before moving out to London. Ideally tattooing is an industry I’d like to be a part of in the future, but still being able to create other types of works alongside it.
I’d like to own a multi-purpose studio one day, a space where I could tattoo, draw, print, build,
hold exhibitions or workshops, and invite anybody willing to hang out and create art. As for now, I’d remain in London for a year or two more, then jet off elsewhere, trying to spread my illustrations around, attempting to do everything, and be everywhere.
