Erika Braccini – Product Design

Profile picture

Erika likes to call herself an activist, environmentalist and happy designer. Erika believes that design is a new form of positive activism that has the potential to become a powerful tool to tackle environmental and social issues. This is the reason why she decided to embark on a journey through the field of design and what has led her to graduate in three-dimensional design at Camberwell College of Arts in London. During her studies she has also taken part in an exchange program at the Willem de Kooning in Rotterdam for six months, and has travelled around the world on her own. Erika really likes to spend time on her own and appreciates everything that is around her.

For the first two years of her studies Erika was very focused on reusing waste as a raw material and turn it into something more desirable since she believed this was the way forward in tackling environmental issues, especially when considering the problem of waste. However, this up-cycling approach has shifted towards creating a product that could also offer a service with the potential of making a real change by involving people through colours, positivity and collectivism.

She is driven by a real, genuine and strong motivation to develop design projects that can highlight existing problems and potentially solve them.
