I am a biologist and illustrator living in Germany. I earned a BA in Anthropology and a PhD in Developmental Biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and am currently studying the evolution of face shape at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Biology.
I am self-taught in the elements of design, illustration, and figure drawing. For the last 10 years I have used these skills as a freelance science illustrator, although I have since branched out to more general graphic design, illustration, and temporary public installations. I enjoy using a variety of styles and genres, as well as experimenting with new and different techniques.
